INDIANAPOLIS -- State Representative Todd Rokita has introduced a new piece of legislation that would imprison officials who "shelter illegal immigrant criminals".
The SLAP Act (H.R. 4526, the Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians Act) would institute criminal penalties for "politicians who obstruct federal immigration laws and who harbor illegal immigrant criminals", according to a press release from Rokita's office.
Those who violate the law could be sentenced to 5 years in federal prison and be fined up to $1 million.
