No Charges Against Muncie Woman In Shooting Death Of Teenage Girl

Prosecutors say Marilyn Wilson, 43, acted in self-defense when she shot and killed 17-year-old Allayzia Jackson on Aug. 31.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Delaware County Prosecutors have decided not to file criminal charges against a Muncie woman who police say shot an killed a teenage girl.

According to the Muncie Star Press, Marilyn Wilson, 43, shot Allayzia Jackson, 17, in the chest during a fight Aug. 31.  Just before the shooting, police say Jackson had punched Wilson in the head after Wilson testified against her brother.

Deshaun Jackson had been sentenced to 25 years in prison after police say he broke into Wilson's home and held a gun to her head in June 2016.

Investigators say Allayzia Jackson was shot once in the chest and died at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Hoffman says Wilson "acted in self-defense and that she reasonably believed that deadly force was necessary to protect herself from an imminent attack.”
