No Prison Time For Former Crawfordsville Teacher Accused Of Sex With Students

A Montgomery County judge has sentenced Michael Demeter to four years of home detention, then an additional four years of probation.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- A former Crawfordsville High School teacher and coach will not be going to prison after pleading guilty to having sex with two high school students.

According to WLFI, Michael Demeter, 26, had pled guilty to two counts of child seduction.  Investigators say Demeter had sex with two female students in 2015.

Demeter had been a math teacher, as well as a basketball and tennis coach at Crawfordsville High School from Aug. 2013 until May 2016, when he resigned to take a position at Wabash College.  Demeter stayed with the school as an assistant basketball coach until the school system learned of the investigation in early January.

A Montgomery County judge has sentenced Demeter to four years of home detention, then an additional four years of probation.
