NWS: Tornado Touched Down in Lawrence County

NWS confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in the small town of Springville on Sunday.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ind. -- In Lawrence County, people are surveying the damage from Sunday's storms.

WBIW-AM in Bedford says at least five homes in the town of Springville were destroyed and several others were seriously damaged.

The National Weather Service confirmed Monday morning that a tornado touched down in Springville. NWS later said the tornado was an EF-1, with wind speeds ranging from 86 - 110 miles per hour.

Sheriff Mike Branham told WBIW-AM that no one was injured in the storms.
