Pay Raise For Carmel Mayor Brainard

The Carmel City Council has approved raises for Brainard, Judge Brian Poindexter and Clerk-Treasurer Christine Pauley.

CARMEL, Ind. -- The paycheck of Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard will be a little bit bigger next year.

The Carmel City Council voted Monday night to raise Brainard's salary by 6.55 percent, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Brainard's salary will increase from $130,504 to $139,053.

The council also voted to raise their own salaries and the salaries of Judge Brian Poindexter and Clerk-Treasurer Christine Pauley by 3-percent, says IBJ.

Pauley's annual salary will increase from $106,749 to $109,952, while Poindexter's will rise from $123,397 to $127,099.

The annual paycheck for each council member will go from $19,853 to $20,449.

Brainard's last raise came last year, when the council approved a 2-percent salary increase. Poindexter and Pauley also received 2-percent pay raises in 2016; the council also voted to raise their own salaries 15-percent.
