Pence Supports Trump's Choice for Acting Attorney General
ANCHORAGE, Alaska--Vice Pres. Mike Pence says he is happy abour Pres. Trump's choice for an acting attorney general, even though some Democrats believe Matthew Whitaker should recuse himself from the Russia investigation, the same as former AG Jeff Sessions.
"I know the president has great confidence in the acting attorney general and I fully suppor the president's decision," said Pence, in Anchorage, Alaska, Sunday to speak with troops at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson.
"He's someone who served with distinction as a U.S. attorney. He's been a high-ranking official as chief of staff at the Dept. of Justice and we remain very confident that he'll lead there with integrity and in a proper manner," said Pence.

He also told the military personnel at the base that the U.S. is committed to continue rebuilding the military.
"We will not relent until we provide you with the resources, the support and the training you need to accomplish your mission and come home safe," he said. "That's our pledge."
