Perdue Farms, Johnsonville Issue Recalls Over Possible Contamination
INDIANAPOLIS -- There are two new food recalls you need to know about, and both of them include unwanted items in meat products.
Perdue Farms is recalling 68,000 pounds of its gluten-free Organics Breaded Chicken Nuggets after receiving several complaints about wood in the meat.
The chicken nuggets were sold in 22-ounce plastic bags and have a best-by date of Oct. 25, 2019. Click here for more information from the USDA.
Meanwhile, Johnsonville says some of its "Cheddar Cheese and Bacon" Grillers may contain small chunks of black rubber.
The pork burger patties were sold in 24-ounce packages and have best by dates of July 24, Aug. 13 or Aug.14, 2019. Click here for more information from the Johnsonville website.
A supply of 24 oz. boxed packages of our Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Grillers (frozen pork patties) w/ one of 3 “Best Flavor By” dates & an EST # (below) is part of a voluntary recall. We take no chances in protecting our consumers’ health & safety. More info: https://t.co/0ghTObC91l pic.twitter.com/tFvZ1kdslD
