Person Hospitalized in Fire on Indy's NW side
INDIANAPOLIS -- One person is in critical condition after a fire on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Fire crews were originally called to the home in the 7200 block of Highland Road just before midnight Thursday.
One adult and two children made it out of the house, but one adult man was still inside. He had to be rescued from the second floor of the house.
The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. The two children were taken to Riley Hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.
Three dogs died in the fire.
IMPD homicide detectives and arson investigators from the Pike Township Fire Department were on the scene through the night.
Correction: RTV6 previously reported that the victim was deceased. Pike Township fire has clarified that the man is in critical condition in a local hospital.
