Pets And Pizza At The Muncie Animal Shelter's Adoption Event This Weekend

On Saturday dog adoptions are $5 and cats and kittens are $1. The first 50 adopters will also be given a free pizza.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Muncie's animal shelter wants you to bring home the holiday cheer with a new best friend and a free pizza to share.

More than 425 animals are at the Muncie Animal Care and Services and this weekend you can help them find loving homes during the shelter's 24-hour "Twelve Strays of Christmas" adoption event.

The event begins midnight Friday and lasts until midnight Saturday, Dec. 8. During this time, all dog adoptions are $5 and cats and kittens are $1.

All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, have had age-appropriate testing and come with a wellness exam.

The shelter asks if you plan on adopting a cat or dog to bring a cat carrier or a leash.

You may also want an extra pair of hands to help carry a free pizza from Muncie's Thr3e Wise Men if you're one of the first 50 adopters.

Muncie animal shelter rescue coordinator Dana Salkoski told the Muncie Star Press the restaurant will be giving away the pizzas and free breadsticks during the event.
