Plainfield Man Shoots and Kills Another Man In Fit of Road Rage

Police say Dustin Passarelli stayed at the scene and even called 911 after shooting the man at an apartment complex on 38th and I-465.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A Plainfield man faces a murder charge after police say he shot a man Saturday night in a road rage incident.

Dustin Passarelli, 33, called 911 around 8:04 p.m. Saturday about a person shot at the Lakeside Crossing at Eagle Creek apartment complex, near West 38th Street and Interstate 465, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived, they found a man who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, IMPD said. Passarelli stayed at the scene, and detectives determined he was the shooter. Police on Sunday announced his arrest and the murder charge against him.

Police confirmed Sunday that they shooting had stemmed from a road rage incident on nearby I-465. Neither the victim nor the suspect lived at the apartments where the shooting happened; the victim had been going there to meet friends.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the road rage incident, around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on southbound I-465 north of the 38th Street exit.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.
