Police ID Man Found Dead Outside Greenwood Apartment Complex

Police were called to the Honey Creek apartments near State Road 135 early Friday morning on a report of shots fired.

GREENWOOD, Ind. - One person is dead after a shooting at a Greenwood apartment complex.

Greenwood Police responded to a call about shots fired at the Honey Creek apartments at around 2 a.m. Friday morning.

Officers arrived and found the body of 19-year-old Erion Dae Quan Mitchell on a sidewalk along Honey Lane. 

Mitchell was shot to death, according to Assistant Police Chief Matthew Fillenwarth.

Fillenwarth said the shooting did not appear to be a random act.

Greenwood police are still investigating and have not identified the shooter.
