Laura Thomas died in the Tuesday morning crash on East U.S. 40 between IN-39 and Cartersburg Rd.

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. -- Police have identified the woman that was killed in a crash in Hendricks County Tuesday morning.

The preliminary investigation says Laura Thomas, 54, of Clayton, Indiana, was going west on U.S. 40 when her van went off the road, hit a culvert, and flipped.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The reason for the vehicle traveling off the roadway is still under investigation, but police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
