Police: Man Breaks into Kokomo Apartment, Gets Shot By Person Living There

That man was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis after being shot in the stomach.

KOKOMO, Ind.--He was shot shortly after breaking into someone's apartment. That's what police are saying happened to a man in Kokomo at about 10 Sunday night. 

The Kokomo Police Department says Kris Bratton, 49, broke into an apartment at the Turtle Creek Apartment complex on the west side of Kokomo. They say they were called to the scene and realized that Bratton had been shot in the stomach by the person who lives in that apartment. 

Bratton was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis. He is in stable condition. 

Police are not identifying the person who shot Bratton.
