Police: Woman's Wheelchair Stolen Outside Home By 15-Year-Old Boy

The homeowner recorded the wheelchair theft on a home security camera, which led detectives to a 15-year-old boy from New Palestine.

GREENFIELD, Ind. – A wheelchair that was taken from an 18-year-old woman has been found and officers say it had been stolen by a 15-year-old boy.

Greenfield Police say the wheelchair was sitting outside a house Monday afternoon while the woman was inside babysitting.  The woman had left the wheelchair outside and used crutches inside because the home was not wheelchair accessible.  When she went back outside, the wheelchair was gone.

The homeowner recorded the wheelchair theft on a home security camera, which led detectives to a 15-year-old boy from New Palestine.  Once investigators found the wheelchair, it was returned to its owner.

Criminal charges are pending against the boy.
