Pub Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, Another Injured

A disturbance between two pub-goers may have instigated the shooting.

INDIANAPOLIS — One man is dead and another is in serious condition after a pub shooting on the south side of Indianapolis.

IMPD officers were called to Jake's Pub, 1280 W. Southport Road, at around 9:50 p.m. Friday on a report of two people shot. The two male victims were found with gunshot wounds and taken to area hospitals, where one of them was pronounced dead. The other man remains in serious condition.

According to Officer Genae Cook, there was a disturbance between two individuals inside the pub shortly before the shooting. One of the people shot may have been involved in the disturbance, Cook said.

As of Friday, police believe all responsible parties are contained, and there is currently no threat to public safety.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
