Second Lady Karen Pence Returns to Teaching

Mrs. Pence, who spent nearly three decades as an elementary school teacher, has signed on to teach art classes in Virginia.

WASHINGTON -- Second Lady Karen Pence is keeping busy doing something she loves: teaching art to elementary school students.

She will teach art classes twice a week at Immanuel Christian School in Virginia until the school year ends in May, the White House said Tuesday.

The Second Lady says that she's "missed teaching art" and is "excited to be back in the classroom."

Mrs. Pence taught elementary school for 25 years before becoming First Lady of Indiana in 2013.
