WASHINGTON — Republican Senate candidate Mike Braun is getting an endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Business, a group that advocates for small businesses, their employees and their customers.

Juanita Duggan, president and CEO of the NFIB, said their endorsements are based solely on a candidate’s voting record.

She said Braun has run a small business and is an NFIB member.

“In the last couple of years Congress and the White House have been able to enact policies that have caused the small business economy to be booming,” said Duggan. “This is the best small business economy in 50 years, according to our research.”

Duggan said the NFIB encourages people to vote for candidates who will be in favor of policies like tax cuts and regulatory rollbacks.

“We’re very much hoping everybody who cares about small businesses in Indiana go out and vote, not just the small business owners, but the employees, the customers, the suppliers,” said Duggan.

There are about a half million small businesses in Indiana, she said.

“If you lose the pro small business majority in Congress, everything that has caused small business to boom in the past few years will be at stake.”
