INDIANAPOLIS — St. Vincent Health has laid off 85 employees throughout the state, according to Inside INdiana Business

The health system said in a statement that it has changed the staffing structure “in various departments across the organization” in order to operate more efficiently.

St. Vincent isn’t saying what types of jobs were cut or where the affected jobs are located.

Employees affected by the layoffs will be encouraged encouraged to apply for other positions within the St. Vincent system or will receive transition assistance, the organization said Friday.

The layoffs come a little more than a year after St. Vincent cut 111 jobs statewide.

The full statement from St. Vincent is below:

“The healthcare environment continues to rapidly evolve creating challenges and opportunities in how we best support those we serve. We have the responsibility to transform our delivery system to ensure we have a sustainable model for the future.

As a result, we’ve made changes to our staffing structure in various departments across the organization to operate more efficiently. Associates affected by this change will be encouraged to apply for additional employment opportunities within our system, or will receive transition assistance. Throughout this time of change, our focus remains on delivering compassionate, personalized care to all.”
