An Indiana State Excise Police officer was arrested last week in Hamilton County on a charges of operating while intoxicated.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says Brett Brandenburg was driving his state-issued vehicle near State Road 37 and 141st Street around 2:00 a.m. on October 4 when he failed to signal a turn.  A sheriff's deputy noticed Brandenburg's car weaving and stopped the vehicle.

The deputy detained Brandenburg for a certified chemical test.  Brandenburg had a blood-alcohol content over 0.15 percent.  Brandenburg was arrested and later released from the Hamilton County Jail after posting a $2,500 bond.

Brandenburg was not on duty at the time of his arrest.  He has a court date scheduled for later this month.
