State Health Dept.: Person With Mumps Attended National FFA Convention

Anyone who was at the convention on Oct. 30 or Oct. 31 and develops symptoms of mumps should see a doctor.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A person infected with mumps attended last week's National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, the Indiana State Dept. of Health announced Monday.

The person was infectious but the risk of transmission is low, said ISDH.

Anyone who attended the National FFA Convention on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 and develops any of the following symptoms should see a doctor right away:

  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Low-grade fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Muscle aches
  • Swelling of the Salivary Gland Below the Ear

People with mumps usually develop symptoms 12 to 25 days after exposure.
