Thank to help from OnStar, the car was eventually tracked down along U.S. 40 in Putnam County. The boy told troopers that he had only intended to go around the block from his home, but "just decided to keep going."

He ended up getting on I-70 out of Indianapolis and got off on to U.S. 40. The boy said when he decided to head back home he ran out of gas.

After talking with the boy's family and prosecutors state police said no charges would be filed.
