A Teenager Was Arrested For Using Replica Handguns To Threaten A Man

Police were able to catch the teenager and determine the handguns were replicas.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- A teenager was arrested on Friday for using what appeared to be a handgun to threaten another man.

The Evansville Police Department said the man was walking near Lincoln and Morton Avenues on Friday night when a 14-year-old boy came up to him. The teenager put a gun to the man's back and asked if he wanted to get "popped".

The teenager eventually let him go and ran away, said police.

An officer found someone matching the teenager's description and was able to stop him.

Two handguns, determined to be replicas, were found where the teenager began running from police, said WFIE.

Police arrested the teenager for intimidation with a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement.
