Terre Haute United Way Receives Anonymous Donation of $100K
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The United Way of the Wabash Valley just received a big donation, but they don't know who made it.
Danielle Isbell, resource development director for the United Way in Terre Haute, says someone anonymously donated $100,000 on Tuesday.
"We receive donations all the time, but this sizeable of a donation? Not very often," Isbell said. "So, it's very exciting, and new, for us."
Isbell says the United Way of the Wabash Valley just recently announced a new goal to help 10,000 families in the area out of financial struggles, and this donation will go a long way to help reach that goal.
They created new councils to help figure out how specifically they will be helping those 10,000 families.
"This donation will help get those councils up and starting and able to issue grants for organizations to be able to apply for that money."
Isbell also says she hopes this large donation will get the attention of other business leaders and individuals, and help motivate them to reach out and get involved as well.
