Two People Dead in Shooting Near Indianapolis Airport

IMPD says they got a call that several people had been shot around 8 Tuesday night in the 2000 block of Blue Pine Lane. That's in the Cameron Meadows subdivision northeast of U.S. 40 and South Raceway Road north of the airport.

INDIANAPOLIS--Two people are dead and two others are injured because of a shooting in a neighborhood near the Indianapolis International Airport.

IMPD says they got a call that several people had been shot around 8 Tuesday night in the 2000 block of Blue Pine Lane. That's in the Cameron Meadows subdivision northeast of U.S. 40 and South Raceway Road north of the airport.

One person is in custody and police are questioning him.

Police could not confirm the condition of one of the victims. A fifth person was taken to a hospital in stable condition, but officers are still trying to figure out if that person is connected to the incident in Cameron Meadows.

IMPD Captain Harold Turner says this is not a common incident for this area.

"I had to stop twice just to figure out how to drive here because it's been a while since I've even been out here. It's a very quiet community," Turner said.
