Victim Shot in Head at Gas Station on Southwest Side

A person was critically injured in a shooting on the city’s southwest side late Wednesday night.

The shooting happened at a gas station near West Troy Avenue and South Lynhurst Drive just before 10:30 p.m., officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Police said the victim was shot in the head and was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities said it appeared the gas station had been robbed. Police said a possible suspect with a gun ran from the scene.
