GREENCASTLE, Ind. — A woman was found dead Tuesday night not far from DePauw University.
According to a Facebook post by Greencastle Police, the body of 44-year-old Melissa Atkisson was found at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 107 E. Berry Street.
Police are treating Atkisson’s death as a homicide investigation, the department said on Facebook.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out the family and friends of Melissa Attkisson. Detective Huffman will work with Prosecutor Tim Booklwater and other agencies to find the person responsible,” GPD wrote on Facebook.
