(Washington, DC) — President Biden is asking Congress to authorize more than $30 billion in additional aid for Ukraine. That includes military, economic and humanitarian assistance.

Speaking at the White House Thursday, Biden said Ukraine is in a fight for its freedom against Russian aggression. He again accused Russia of committing atrocities, and pushed lawmakers to move as quickly as possible to authorize the additional aid, calling it critical.

The President said the “cost of this fight is not cheap, but caving to aggression is going to be more costly if we allow it to happen.” Biden again blamed Russia’s war for fueling global inflation. He also unveiled new efforts to go after Russian oligarchs in ongoing U.S.-led sanctions against the Kremlin. Biden vowed that Russia’s aggression and threats “will not win.”
