WASHINGTON — Child tax credit payments will not be showing up in bank accounts this month.
Since July, deposits from the child tax credit have been going out every month around the 15th.
But families won’t be seeing the payments this month because the credits were part of President Biden’s coronavirus relief package, which did not pass the Senate.
Democrats needed every vote to pass the bill, but Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia was against extending the tax credit because he felt it would discourage people from working, and that more federal spending would add to inflation.
