Dallas Police Trying to Determine Motive of Courthouse Shooter

Brian Clyde, of Fort Worth, was killed in a shootout with local and federal officers.

DALLAS -- Dallas Police are trying to figure out why a 22-year-old heavily armed Army veteran went on a shooting spree outside the Earle Cabell Federal Building and Courthouse on Monday morning.

Brian Clyde, of Fort Worth, was killed in a shootout with local and federal officers.  No one else was injured.

Clyde was armed with a military-style rifle and 150 rounds of ammunition, according to an FBI agent.

An Army spokesman says Clyde served as an infantryman for about 19 months and was a Private First Class when he left the service in February of 2017.
