Health Secretary Tom Price Has Resigned
WASHINGTON, D.C -- Health Secretary Tom Price is resigning.
The White House released a statement saying that Price offered his resignation today and President Trump accepted it.
The President intends to designate Don J. Wright of Virginia to act as Acting Secretary, effective at 11:59 Eastern Time tonight. Wright currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health and Director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
Price came under fire for his taxpayer-funded travel on private jets for government purposes. Yesterday, Price said he would write a personal check to the Treasury to repay his expenses.
