Jeff Sessions Out as Attorney General
WASHINGTON -- One day after the Midterm Elections, Jeff Sessions is out as Attorney General of the United States.
"At your request I am submitting my resignation," Sessions wrote in an undated letter to White House chief of staff John Kelly.

Matthew G. Whitaker will take over as Acting Attorney General. A permanent replacement will be "nominated at a later date", President Trump tweeted Wednesday.
"[Whitaker] will serve our Country well," Trump tweeted. "We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well!"
Whitaker is expected to take charge of the the Russia investigation and special counsel Robert Mueller from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
