John Kelly Named Trump Chief Of Staff; Priebus Resigns

Priebus resignation comes after feud with new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci escalated

WASHINGTON, D.C -- In another White House shakeup, President Trump is naming Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as his new chief of staff.

Trump made the announcement in a tweet late today.  He has made no mention of the fate of Reince Priebus, who has been chief of staff since Trump was inaugurated.  Trump called retired General Kelly a great American.

This follows the hiring of Wall Street hedge fund manager Anthony Scaramucci as communications chief and the resignation of Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

There have been reports of growing tensions between Priebus and Scaramucci.

With Kelly being named Chief of Staff, the President will have to find a replacement for the head of Homeland Security, which will need Senate confirmation.
