Mike Pence Delaying Trip to Middle East Because of Tax Vote

Pence planned to leave on Tuesday, but his plans have changed.

WASHINGTON, DC  --  Vice President Mike Pence is delaying his trip to Egypt and Israel until a Congressional vote on the Republican tax plan.

Pence had planned to leave Tuesday for Cairo, but the White House says he's now delaying the trip until January.  Republicans are confident they will pass the tax overhaul, but Pence will be around in case he needs to break a tie in the Senate.

The House is set to vote on the bill Tuesday and the Senate will likely follow suit on Wednesday.
