WASHINGTON — Speaker Nancy Pelosi says it’s up to her fellow House Democrats to determine when the Senate will get the articles of impeachment against President Trump.

On ABC’s This Week, Pelosi says House Democrats will talk about the issue Tuesday morning.  Pelosi has withheld the articles since the House voted just before Christmas to impeach Trump on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress charges.

Pelosi wanted assurances that there would be a fair trial in the Senate and she said she doesn’t regret holding on to the articles.

“They take an oath to have a fair trial, and we think that would be with witnesses and documentation,” Pelosi said. “I will be consulting Tuesday morning with members at our weekly caucus meeting about sending the articles.”

The California Democrat has been criticized by members of her own party who have said it’s time to send the articles to the Senate.
