President Trump Talks With World Leaders At G7 Summit
BIARRITZ, France. -- President Trump and other world leaders are meeting for one final day at the G7 summit in the south of France.
One of the day's highlights so far has been Trump telling reporters that China wants to come back to the negotiating table and that he plans to hold trade talks.
"They want to make a deal, and they want calm," Trump said. "That's a great thing. One of the things that makes him a great leader, President Xi."
During meetings with the leaders of Egypt and Germany earlier today, the president addressed a number of issues from the surprise appearance in France of Iran's foreign minister to the economy and ISIS.
Yesterday, Trump announced a major new trade deal following a bilateral meeting with Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
He described the preliminary agreement as "a very big deal" worth billions that will benefit American farmers. Japan's prime minister called it a "win-win" for both countries.
