Republican Senator to Introduce Bil on Domestic Terrorism
WASHINGTON -- Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) is crafting a bill to make domestic terrorism a punishable federal crime.
In a statement, McSally said domestic terrorism is "in our backyard and we need to call it and treat it under the law the same as other forms of terrorism."
McSally said her bill would give federal law enforcement officials the tools they need to punish domestic terrorists to the fullest extent of the law.
In July, FBI Director Christopher A. Wray told the Senate Judiciary Committee that federal agents had made around 100 domestic terrorism arrests since Oct. 1, 2018.
A majority of those arrests, according to Wray, were in some way connected to white supremacy.
