Saudi National Opens Fire, Kills Three People At Florida Naval Base

An aviation student from Saudi Arabia opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday morning.

PENSACOLA, Fla. --  Officials are looking at terror as a possible motive in today's shooting at a Florida naval base.

An aviation student from Saudi Arabia opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station Pensacola, killing three people and wounding eight.

Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said the shooter used a handgun.

Weapons are not allowed on the base.  Two of the wounded were sheriff deputies who confronted the shooter, who was killed in the exchange.

This is the second shooting incident at an American naval base this week.

On Wednesday a man killed two civilians and wounded a third at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.  He then killed himself.

The base commander said foreign nationals have been training at the Pensacola base since it opened.

The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and NCIS are leading the investigation.
