(Washington, DC) — The $40 billion Ukraine aid bill is headed to President Biden’s desk after easy passage by the Senate.

The bill is supposed to provide additional security and humanitarian aid to help Ukraine withstand the ongoing invasion by Russia. Kentucky Republican Rand Paul held up final passage for about a week due to concerns about the deficit and how the money would be spent.

The vote was 86-11. The House approved the bill earlier and now it goes to President Biden, who strongly supports the legislation.

Indiana Senator Todd Young voted in favor of the bill, Senator Mike Braun voted no.
