At least 23 people have been killed worldwide by the faulty inflators when they exploded in a cloud of flying shrapnel. Hunderds of other people have been injured because of the faulty inflators.

The recall affects a variety of Toyota models built between 2010 and 2017, including:

  • 2010 - 2016 Toyota 4Runner

  • 2010 - 2013 Toyota Corolla

  • 2010 - 2013 Toyota Matrix

  • 2011 - 2014 Toyota Sienna

Also included are certain Lexus models built between 2010 and 2017, including:

  • 2010 - 2012 Lexus ES359

  • 2010 - 2017 Lexus GX 460

  • 2010 - 2015 Lexus IS 250C and 350C

  • 2010 - 2014 IS-F

The 2010 through 2015 Scion XB is also included in the recall.
