WASHINGTON — On Wednesday afternoon, protesters clashed with police on Capitol Hill and entered the U.S. Capitol building.

Shortly before 3 p.m., protesters could be seen inside the Senate Chamber, one of them on the dais.

As of 2:15 p.m., the Capitol building was on lockdown and Vice President Mike Pence had been ushered off of the floor of the Senate.

Protesters breached the Capitol building sometime after 2 p.m. and were shown outside the Senate Chamber.

Protesters could be seen inside the Capitol, fighting with Capitol Police.

Other protesters can be seen on video spraying fire extinguishers inside the Capitol.

Protesters can be seen on video throwing things at police, attempting to remove barricades installed on the steps of the Capitol, and trying to move past police, up the steps of the Capitol, and into the building.

 

The Mayor of Washington, D.C. has ordered a 6 p.m. curfew.
