FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. — Parents of a 15-year-old girl first called Indiana State Police on June 25th about a concerning relationship she had with an adult man.
A state trooper met with the parents and started an investigation, finding sexual communication between the two and the man’s attempts to meet with the girl in secret.
July 2nd, that trooper along with multiple other ISP officers waited near their house in Floyd County and found the man. Around 11:30p.m. the suspect, 28-year-old Shawn Riedesel of Louisville, Kentucky, was arrested as he came to the home.
Police have arrested Riedesel on numerous charges, including felonies for sexual misconduct with a minor, child exploitation, and possession of child pornography.
ISP wants to remind every parent or guardian to keep an eye on the social media or online communication of their children.
