The mass suicide of over 900 people in Jonestown, Guyana, on Nov. 18, 1978, is considered a mass murder by many people, including some of the people who lived through it. The Jonestown massacre was a culmination of events that started in Lynn and Richmond, Indiana, continued into Indianapolis, then to San Francisco, and finally to the jungle of South America.
The journey of a madman started with the preaching of the gospel, and morphed into something that appealed to people who were on the fringes, who were vulnerable and who eventually followed Jim Jones to their deaths and his.
You’ll now go on a journey that may be a bit dark for some people. You’ll meet a Hoosier who was a part of the Peoples Temple from his early childhood, through the day he learned his mother and brother died.
You’ll journey with him through the next 40 years and what happens after hell.
