Indiana To Face Charleston Southern On October 7th
BLOOMINGTON, IN -- The Hoosiers have found a new opponent.
After their game with Florida International was canceled because the Golden Panthers could not get out of Florida thanks to Hurricane Irma, Indiana will be facing Charleston Southern October 7th at Memorial Stadium. October 7th was originally supposed to be the Hoosiers' bye week.
The game contract between the Indiana and Charleston Southern was signed today and the kickoff time will be announced at a later date. IU athletic director Fred Glass says that Indiana is also paying Charleston Southern a pretty penny to make the trip to Bloomington.
"We're paying Charleston Southern $500,000 plus up to $150,000 in extra expenses that they may incure," Glass told JMV on 107.5 and 1070 The Fan.
Glass says all tickets that were bought for the FIU game can be exchanged for the Charleston Southern game.
The deadline to request an exchange is next Monday, September 18th.
Glass adds you also have the option the return your FIU tickets for a full refund. All exchange requests must be done in writing by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
