Indiana Native and NBA Star Gordon Hayward Seriously Injured in NBA Opener

CLEVELAND, Oh-Former Butler University and Brownsburg High School basketball star Gordon Hayward suffered a serious injury just minutes into the 2017-2018 season last night when his Boston Celtics were playing the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hayward jumped up for a pass and came down hard and landed awkwardly on his leg. The injury was so tough to bear that both Cavaliers and Celtics players on the floor immediately turned away with uncomfortable looks on their faces. He remained on the floor for several minutes before being taken off the court on a stretcher. Hayward has a dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia. The timetable for his return is unknown at this time.
Hayward just signed a four-year, $128 million contract with the Celtics in July.
Many people both near and far are showing their support for Hayward:
