MIAMI, Florida. — The Chiefs scored three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter to rally past the 49ers 31-20 at Super Bowl 54 in Miami.

Patrick Mahomes threw the go-ahead touchdown to Damien Williams with 2:44 left to put KC up for good.  Williams capped the win with a 38-yard TD run with 1:12 to go.  Mahomes passed for 286 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding a score on the ground.

Williams had 133 yards of total offense and two scores as the Chiefs won the second Super Bowl in franchise history and first in 50 years.  Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 219 yards, a touchdown and two picks for the 49ers, who led 20-10 with less than seven minutes left.

Raheem Mostert rushed for a score as the Niners fell short of a record-tying, six Super Bowl title.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is finally a Super Bowl champion.

Before Sunday’s win over the 49ers, Reid had the most career coaching wins in the NFL without a Super Bowl victory.  He was head coach of the Eagles from 1999 through 2012 and guided them to the NFC Championship Game five times.
