Pagano Says Consistency Is The Goal As Training Camp Progresses
INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Indianapolis Colts had their first day of practice in pads today as they continue training camp at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Complex.
Head Coach Chuck Pagano says that the practice was spirited and that they need to focus on staying consistent moving forward, but also mentioned that a few scuffles took place between players.
"You know you can't fight in a game," Pagano said of the fights. "If you fight in a game and throw a punch, you're going to get ejected, you're going to get disqualified, you're going to hurt yourself, and you're going to hurt the team. These guys need to learn to control their emotions."
The Colts will have the day off tomorrow before continuing practice in pad on Thursday. Pagano also touched on the need for the Colts defense to put an "emphasis" on tackling, since it was such a problem last year.
"We've just gotta practice it," Pagano added. "If you can't practice it then you're not going to be a good defense."
The Colts have less than two weeks left until their first pre-season game against the Detroit Lions.
