Tale Of Two Halves Sees Colts On The Losing End

The Indianapolis Colts led at the half, only to lose again as they were outscored in the second half

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Indianapolis Colts were sitting pretty with a 13-9 lead over the Tennessee Titans at halftime.

The Colts had taken that lead on the heels of two field goals from Adam Vinatieri and a touchdown pass to tight end Jack Doyle.

After a pick-6 of Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota by Colts linebacker John Simon making it 19-9, Indianapolis appeared to have all the momentum on their side. But, in what can only be described as "typical Colts fashion" this season, the inevitable collapse began.

Tennessee made some drastic adjustments on defense in the second half, courtesy defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau. Applying more pressure on quarterback Jacoby Brissett, they force Indianapols three-and-out three straight times, which was followed by a fumble by Jack Doyle. All this happened while Titans kicker Ryan Succop was able to chip away at the Colts lead.

After a touchdown run from DeMarco Murray, followed by a Vinatieri field goal, the game was tied at 22-22.

Again, the Colts found themselves in a situation where the game was tied inside the fourth quarter and all the momentum seemed to favor the opposing team.

The momentum stayed that way when Mariota hit Taywan Taylor with a 53-yard touchdown pass all but sealing the win for the Titans, but the Colts defense added icing to the cake allowing Derrick Henry to break loose in garbage time. He took it to the house bring it to a 36-22 win for Tennessee.

With the loss, the Colts sit at 2-4 on the season sitting alone in last place in the AFC South. They return home this Sunday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in another division match-up.
