Vinatieri Breaks Record, Colts Win Second Game in a Row

A prestigious NFL record has been set by a Colt.

INDIANAPOLIS—Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has scored the most points of anyone in the NFL, as the Colts beat the Oakland Raiders 42-28 in the team’s first back-to-back win this season.

Vinatieri’s career number of points stands at 2,547. The record was previously held by Morten Andersen.

“This is a milestone. Your hard work and dedication have put you at the top,” said former Colts head coach Tony Dungy, on Twitter. 

Former Colts GM Bill Polian and former Colts Pat McAffee and Peyton Manning also congratulated Vinatieri.

“It was an absolute honor of mine to hold your balls and help you get to this record,” said McAffee.

The Colts outscored the Raiders in the 1st and 4th quarters.

The play the Jaguars at 1 p.m., Nov. 11.
