INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested for a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night on Indy’s near-east side.
Indy Metro Police said 34-year-old Bruce McClinton has been arrested.
Officers in the area of 10th and Rural Streets at around 11:30 p.m. heard gunshots and found a man who had been shot. He died before he could be taken to the hospital.
The victim has not yet been identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
IMPD investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act.
Police say McClinton drove away from the scene of the shooting and was found hiding in a backyard.
Online court records obtained by WISH-TV say McClinton also faces charges of operating while intoxicated and endangering a person by operating while intoxicated. McClinton was also wanted in Miami County for driving on a suspended license.
