Why Is Purdue Gaining National Attention?

According to business intelligence company Morning Consult, Purdue is also the fourth-most trusted public university in the nation.

Ethan Braden, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Purdue stated that “people are aware of Purdue and when they think of universities that will do the right thing, Purdue is top of mind.” Talking about trust, he went on to state, “from they way we’ve handled Covid, whether it’s been now an 11 year tuition freeze, saving over a billion dollars and 70,000 Boilermakers are gonna graduate having never seen a tuition increase.  We do what we say. By keeping the student at the center, we’re able to keep our priorities straight.”

US News and World Report also ranked schools according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.  Purdue University is ranked #49 in National Universities.

When asked why students should choose Purdue, Braden answered that “it’s an incredible place.”

The Wall Street Journal also ranked colleges by their value and again, Purdue performed very well. The West Lafayette school placed at No. 7 for “best value” school in the U.S.

Purdue University President Mitch Daniels said, “We don’t know which of Purdue’s characteristics produced this encouraging ranking but we are frequently commended for being affordable, academically rigorous, and protective of free inquiry and diversity of viewpoints.  It’s rightly said that trust is not given, it’s earned. At Purdue, we know that trust must be constantly re-earned.”
